Overnight & Respite Care
Waking or sleeping nights for those who need support through the night, and planned cover so family carers can rest, recover, or take a break knowing their relative is in safe hands.
Night care options
Two types of overnight support
The right type of night service depends on how frequently the person needs assistance and what that assistance involves. We will advise on which option is most appropriate during the free assessment.
Sleep-in night
Supervisory, carer sleeps on site
The carer stays overnight in the home in a supervisory capacity. They are available to respond if needed during the night but are not required to remain awake throughout. This is suitable where the person is unlikely to need frequent assistance but needs someone on hand for reassurance or occasional support.
Waking night
Active duty, carer awake throughout
The carer remains awake and on active duty throughout the night. This suits people who need frequent help during the night, such as repositioning, continence care, or managing anxiety, where a sleeping carer would not be enough.
Respite care
A break for family carers
Caring for a family member is rewarding but demanding. Respite care gives a family carer a planned break, knowing their relative is in safe, professional hands while they rest, recover, or attend to other responsibilities.
Respite can be arranged as a one-off, a regular weekly slot, or for a longer period, for example while a family carer is on holiday or recovering from illness. The service is always delivered in the home.
